Billing FAQ: What you need to know to make informed decisions.
When will I be charged?
If the item is in stock your Credit Card will be processed at the time of your purchase and your order will be shipped out within 24-48 hours of receiving your order. Once your order has shipped you will receive a delivery confirmation tracking code and the payment will be finalized and the order considered fulfilled.
If the item is on back-order your Credit Card will be processed for a temporary authorization at the time of the purchase and your order will be marked received. Your order will not be finalized until your item is restocked and ships. Usually all back orders are shipped within 48 hours of receiving them.
For each custom apparel order, a $20 tailoring fee will be charged right before your Tailor begins measuring and sewing for you. That tailoring fee will be credited toward anything you purchase in that shipment. After your Custom apparel order ships the balance of your order will be charged. When your order arrives, you’ll log into your account to let us know what you think of the items you have received. Is there a membership fee?
There’s no charge for having an Evidence Man account. You’re only charged when we fulfill a shipment for you or you place a custom apparel order. See “When will I be charged?” above.
Why was I charged $20?
We charge a $20 tailoring fee before every customized apparel order is placed. This fee is applied toward your final order, so it’s deducted from your total at checkout when the purchase is finalized if you purchase one or more items. For instance, if you decide to order a customized 7-pack of pastel colored Package Enhancers for $189.90 we will charge you $169.00 at fulfillment because we deduct the $20 tailoring fee during checkout. Since we are essentially reimbursing you the $20 that initially covers the tailoring fee. The tailoring fee is only if for some reason you cancel the custom order or it is not finalized.
When Do I get the Invoice for my Custom Apparel Order?
The invoice will be sent prior to your tailor beginning work on your custom order. This will allow you the opportunity to confirm the final price and style choices before committing.

Does the tailoring fee roll over if I decide not to finalize the custom apparel order?
Your tailoring fee can only be applied to a purchase from your current Custom apparel order. It doesn’t roll over to your next shipment, isn’t refunded, and can’t be transferred to another member of a family account and it is not survivable. This applies whether you finalize your order or not and it doesn’t matter if you take all the items you inquired about or not, or if you purchase an item that’s less than the cost of the fee. Our number one priority is to personalize your Custom apparel order so you are satisfied with the product. Satisfaction leads to confidence. If you decide not to keep anything or cancel the custom apparel order then the tailoring fee is also not refunded or credited back towards that or any future orders.
How much time do I have to decide to finalize or cancel my Custom Apparel Order?
You have 48 hours from receipt of your custom apparel order invoice to cancel the custom apparel order or the order will be processed and fulfilled.
Where did my credit go?
When we begin sewing your shipment, we charge a $20 tailoring fee. If you have Evidence Man credit, it will automatically be used toward the tailoring fee instead of getting charged on your saved payment method. On your Account page, under “My Orders” you’ll see that your order is pending and the $20 of your available credit has been applied toward your tailoring fee. Any remaining credit will go directly toward anything you purchased. Don’t worry–the $20 tailoring fee will still be deducted from any items you purchase in your shipment.
How do I update my billing information?
You can update your billing information anytime from your Account page. You can only save one payment method on your account at a time. If you experience any errors saving your information, please try accessing the site from a different web browser or device.
Which payment methods can I use?
Accepted payment types:
- All major credit cards that are connected to a U.S. billing address
- PayPal
- Apple Pay
Payment types we don’t accept:
- Checks
- Cash
- Third-party gift cards such as those purchased through Visa, MasterCard, American Express or other credit card companies
What if there is a problem with my billing? Will you notify me?
Yes! If we’re ever unable to charge your selected payment method, we’ll alert you at the Point of Sale or by email or phone for custom apparel orders so you can look into the issue and update your billing information if needed. If you ever log into your account and see a “Payment is owed” error, please contact us right away so we can help settle your account.
